Review: Specialized Bennies Platform Pedals

We put the popular Specialized Bennies Platform pedals through their paces

Named after US pro rider Brad Benedict these pedals as good as you would expect when an elite rider has had a hand in the design.

Equipped with 12 replaceable screw pins on either side the Bennies are a sleek, yet slightly concave  (you have to look REALLY closely to notice this) pedal and despite the fact they are a little narrower than its competitors, offers supreme grip when on the trails.

Elsewhere the pedal has proved pretty bullet proof, having taken quite the hammering since I started using them a few months ago. The axles run sealed cartridge bearings which have shown little wear and thankfully and very easy to maintain.

Price is also on the Bennies’ side. At £60 I think they offer superb value for money as they not only offer supreme grip but have also shown their worth when it comes to wear and tear. Oh and did I mention, they look pretty sweet too!

The Bennies are available in three colour choices : Black, red and white.

Price: £60
