Learn more about the Flare brand here: Hannah Myers shares how she created Flare, a women’s MTB clothing brand
The Flare Clothing Company Roost Enduro shorts come in a selection of colours, so you can mix and match or order as a set. The colours are thankfully more interesting than the usual women’s kit, and include a grey and red, and teal and yellow combination.
The Roost Enduro Shorts are really well fitting, as a rider with a proper set of curves, I struggle with the too big/too small shorts conundrum a lot of the time, but the low waist band, hip Cam-buckle fastening and the crossover fly make these a great pair of shorts. With an elasticated waist band and stretchy lower back panel they allow you to adjust the fitting meaning no gaping and a flattering fit.
The left leg houses a small, zip fastened pocket, big enough for bank card, keys, and theoretically a phone, although I couldn’t ride carrying mine in the pocket. But the pocket is stylish and in-keeping with the print of the shorts.
The polyester material is strong enough to ride all day out on the trails, and they are light-weigh enough to mean commuting/popping out to pub of an evening doesn’t involve overheating or looking out of place with friends.
The legs are cut just below the knee, are a good width and have vents cut to cope perfectly with knee pads on too. They are also roomy enough to wear your own padded shorts with for a longer day in the saddle.
I’ve been lucky enough to be doing my riding in dry conditions when testing these shorts so as yet can’t comment on the water resistance, but they do wash well and dry very quickly.
Pros
Good colour schemes to mix and match kit
Adjustable fitting
Cons
Would benefit from another pocket or two
Verdict
The Roost Enduro shorts are a great go-to pair of clothing for all styles of riding!
