Based on the beautiful island of Lanzarote, Absa Cape Epic Mountain Bike Training Camp is the official European training camp for the annual Absa Cape Epic in South Africa. You don’t have to be competing in the eight day African race in order to participate in the training camp, so long as you can comfortably ride for four to five hours a day. As well as participating in a four stage mountain bike race and optional recovery rides, you will be able to attend lectures on stage race nutrition for expert advice that will get you to the finish line in good time. Riding through the Fire Mountains, over lava fields, down gravel and sandy roads and tackling rocky descents, the four stage race may be challenging but it is the perfect preparation for kick starting a brilliant mountain bike season or partaking in the 800km eight day Absa Cape Epic that sees mountain bikers fighting their way up 16,000 metres of climbs. During the week of the training camp you will stay at Club La Santa sports resort and non-campers are welcome to stay there too for an additional cost.
