Gore tend to make all their cycling kit quite fitted, and the mountain bike specific Alp-X Thermo jersey is no exception. It’s designed to be worn on its own when the weather isn’t too cold, or as the warm layer under waterproofs when the temperature plummets.

A full length zip is a great feature (particularly if you like wearing bib tights!) and the snug close-fitting collar is great for keeping the drafts out. It’s got a back pocket for storing your pump, and two side pockets which we generally find are more useful for mountain biking. You need somewhere to keep your jelly baby stash, after all!
