6 of the Best Full Face Helmets to Suit all Budgets

A round up of the best of the best full face helmets

Both the composite and carbon versions of the Troy Lee D3 come with what Troy Lee call next-level safety devices. There is a reason Troy Lee lids are so popular, not only are they worn by some of the top pros like Steve Peat, Sam Hill, Cam Zink and Aaron Gwin but they come with and exceed global safety requirements and standards.

The D3 is a class leader in terms of safety and Troy Lee stop at nothing to create beautifully finished lids to suit a range of styles. With massive attention to detail the other features are definitely not lacking, the lid comes with an inner dual-density shock pad system that helps to absorb smaller impacts, withstand multiple hits and add greater durability for the single impact absorbing EPS liner.

There are 20 vents points on both models allowing maximum ventilation for the rider as well as removable, washable liners and padding. The helmets have a snug fit, but are designed this way to ensure it fits on your head properly. It is also designed to work well with a neck brace, a feature not often available with other helmets on the market, meaning the D3 is unmatched if you want the ultimate protection.

Troy Lee released 8 new models for 2014, four composite and four carbon. Carbon colours: Carbon Pinstripe II Black, Finishline Yellow, Gwin and Speed Orange. Composite colours: Pinstripe II Red, Finishline Black, Speed White and Zink. Troy Lee have done everything they can to make their helmets high class, safe and pay utmost attention to the finished product. Available in sizes XS to XXL. The helmets also come with a D3 helmet bag and two D3 color-matching visors.
