It’s not every day you receive an email about a woolly hat that could help relieve tension, maximise performance and avoid injury – so when we heard about the new creation from Back on Track we were intrigued.
The Swedish based brand offers performance clothing, with a special focus on horse riders and indeed horses. However, cyclists get cold noggins too – whether that be on the bike or trudging to and from training – so they dropped us a mail about their brand new bobble hat
The brand’s range includes items with foundations in Chinese medicine, combined with advanced technology. Fabric used is made up of fibres of polyester and polypropylen, plus cotton fibres, with a ceramic powder fused into the fibres. The ceramic is said to reflect body heat in the form of infrared heat radiation – offering joint and muscle protection.
All production takes place in factories in China, and Back on Track say that each new batch of textile is tested by an independent university laboratory who assess the level of reflected heat and its wavelength.
The hat – designed to hit the Christmas market bang on time – uses Back on Track’s revolutionary Welltex fabric.

Discussing the benefits of the hat, Back on Track explain: “These ceramic particles cause long wave infra-red heat to radiate back towards the body. The body responds positively to the infra-red wave, increasing circulation, which can relieve joint tension, maximise performance and help avoid injury.”
The brand offers pages full of testimonials from customers like jockey Gary Stevens – who used the knee brace and commented: “I love the Back on Track knee brace. It has put my knees back on track for sure and it has improved my range of motion by at least 20 percent.”
We reckon perhaps the effect needs to be felt to be believed. The outer fabric is an attractive woven knit, and there’s a faux fur bubble on the top. All hats are one size fits all, and are available in grey, black or blue for £23.50.
