Game Changing Bike Locks?
Game Changing Bike Locks?
Skylock:
We’ve seen seat post locks, frame locks, wearable locks, but wireless locks? Hmm, sounds interesting.
Claiming to be “the next evolution”, Skylock connects to your mobile device to prevent you from ever turning up to work without your bike lock key again. Locking automatically as you snap each part of the lock in place, it then intelligently unlocks using Bluetooth technology as soon as you simply approach your bike.
Thought that was neat? It also uses solar powered batteries to recharge itself, with just an hour of sunlight on a ride giving it enough juice to last the entire week. Skylock also sends alerts to your phone when it’s tampered with, preventing that nasty shock at the end of your day as you stare at an empty space in the street wondering what happened.
We can’t help but think that your bike’s safety at the touch of a button is the best answer, but the concept is very cool.
Price: £99.00, available from Skylock (available to ship from early 2015).
Cheng- Tsung Pedal Lock:
The bike industry seems to be very hot on producing endless inventions to deter thieves from stealing yet another bike from you, but is the Pedal Lock from Cheng- Tsung a game changer?
The device acts as both your bike’s pedal and lock, by simply pushing the pedals counter-clockwise and locking them with a key to your wheel. It all sounds pretty simple, but when the pedal is tampered with, it instantly breaks and can’t be used any more, decreasing the ability to move the bike easily.
The Pedal Lock makes a great buy for commuters who are tired of lugging their greasy lock around and are looking for a new innovative way to keep hold of their bikes.
