Cycle Proof Make Up: The Best Waterproof Mascara’s
BB creams and CC creams aren’t that different at all. If you’re looking for something that adds complete coverage to your skin, but that’s lighter than a foundation, then a BB cream is what you’re looking for.
And if it’s colour correcting you need, then a CC cream will help even out your skin tone whilst brightening your complexion.
We’ve had our eyes peeled for the best picks and here’s our top 5…
Body Shop All-In -One BB Cream
Price: £12.00, available from Body Shop.
Body Shop beauty products are always a good place to start as you can guarantee that nothing has ever been tested on animals and use natural ingredients that are good to your skin.
Their All-In-One BB Cream places pigment filled capsules on your skin to even out your skin tone, with a smooth finish and 24 hour moisture lock. This one works best when applied with a sponge for an even coverage. It’s light, just like a thin moisturiser but works the same wonders as foundation, with a more natural, healthier and subtle finish. The only thing we wish was that the product has SPF in as well!
Garnier BB Miracle Skin Protector Cream
Price: 9.99, available from Boots.
The Garnier BB Skin Protector Cream for Combination to oily skin is perfect for cyclists.
Specifically designed for skin that’s prone to get sweaty and oily, the product has an anti-shine feature that gives off a matt finish and soaks up excess moisture, whilst making sure the skin isn’t dry!
Just apply a small amount evenly to your face, and you’re ready to go knowing your skin will be shine free and protected from the sun with it’s SPF UV 20 protection.
Hydroxatone Anti-Ageing BB Cream with Broad Spectrum SPF40
Price: £36.00, available from Hydroxatone.
Hydorxatone’s Anti-Ageing BB Cream already scores good points for having a high SPF factor, an essential feature needed in beauty products for cyclists. As well as protecting your skin from the dry and hot weather conditions, it’s anti-ageing factor works wonders in helping to both firm and tone the skin.
The cream itself is silky, giving a light coverage and if you are prone to getting dry skin, than this product is for you. The only con we have is the lack of colour shades available, having only 3 to choose from!
Yves Saint Laurent CC Crème Forever Light Creator
Price: £30, available from Debenhams.
For a YSL product, this CC cream is great value. With SPF 35, your skin is automatically protected during your commute as well as your pores being minimised at the same time.
It’s a great product to wake up, smother on your face and dash out the door, freshening up your morning skin.
Available in three different shades, Rose, Apricot and Lavender, each CC Crème Forever Light Creator gives a translucent glow which adapts to your own personal skin shade. The Rose brightens up your skin, the Apricot corrects uneven skintone and the lavender helps to neutralise skin.
And each full of natural ingredients that are good for your skin, YSL’s first CC cream is a pretty good purchase!
Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream SPF 30
Price: £28
Finally, a CC cream available in a large range of shades! We love this Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream. Like all cycle-proof facial products need, it has a high SPF factor- something your skin will definitely thank you for in the future.
It immediately corrects red, puffy or sallow skin, perfect for putting on once you arrive at work after a long commute. Feeling light on your skin, it doesn’t add an oily texture like most facial beauty products and gives a natural looking finish that doesn’t sweat off when you cycle!
