1. The Cycle Show
The Cycle Show is basically the biggest bike show in the UK, and it’s THE place to go if you love all things bikes and cycling related. All the major brands will be there, not only showing off some beautiful bikes but giving you the chance to ride them too.
Special tracks and trails for road, commuter and mountain bikes mean you can take your dream bike or future purchase out for a test ride. There are even test tracks for kids!
There’s also trials and BMX demos, an air bag if you’ve always wanted to try a backflip, ebikes to demo, and accessories and gear of all sorts. There’s even a pub if it all gets too much.

2. The Yorkshire Bicycle Show
Get yourself in the spirit for the 2014 Le Grand Depart by heading to the Yorkshire Bicycle Show 2013, taking place over the weekend of the 21st September.
In the build up to the 2014 Tour de France, which will start in Leeds, a celebration of the rich cycling culture of Yorkshire is the focus of this event, which will be held in the imposing Leeds Town Hall building.
There’ll be film screenings, demonstrations, talks and displays, not to mention a good line in local beers, ales and food. Exhibitors include bike companies, frame builders and cycle retailers, so expect to see Tokyo Fixed, Feather Cycles, Milk Bikes as well as Sustrans, CTC and the Leeds Cycling Campaign.
Makers of beautiful and unusual waterproof cycle wear for women Georgia in Dublin will be there, as will Coven, a women’s magazine with a difference covering ‘action, art and adventure’.

3. The London Bicycle Film Festival
As you might imagine given the name, the London Bicycle Film Festival celebrates everything two wheeled on screen. 2013 is the tenth year of the festival, which showcases short films from around the world, as well as feature-length offerings.
Films on show include ‘The New Woman: Annie “Londonderry” Kopchovsky‘, which follows the story of a young women who, in 1894, attempted to be the first female to circumnavigate the globe by bicycle, and ‘Janapar‘, the true story of a man who set off around the world on his bicycle, and ended up changing his life in ways he never imagined.
There are also events to you get you riding a bike, as well as watching them being ridden. Velojam is a women’s track racing day at the Herne Hill Velodrome, and a chance to have a go at track cycling yourself, as well as see some of the top riders in action.
There’s also an organised group ride, a bicycle polo tournament, and an open symposium on cycling organised in conjunction with Transport for London.
