Yumbox, £24.99
Yumbox, £24.99
We wanted to try the Yumbox because of it’s unique portion-control tray. These are aimed at both kids and adults, meaning they may look a little childish for the office-conscious. But on first impression it feels sturdy and pleasingly novel.
Rattleproof?
Eh… no. Really bad actually. We gave it a shake and this yumbox couldn’t cope: especially disappointing because it advertises itself as ‘leakproof’ and has a reassuring looking rubber lid to seal off each section from the next. We were using water and it’s important to acknowledge that nothing that viscous will ever be packed for your lunch. But a tad sad it couldn’t cope with the violence of our tests. One for those of you that are more careful than us.
Size and weight
Another heavier one… but we like the size very much. It’s dinky and could nicely fit in a magazine rack on your desk, or similar, after you’ve finished with it.
Cleverness
Top marks for the different sections encouraging appropriate portions and nutritionally balanced meals. We haven’t been creative enough to use it to it’s full capacity yet, but check out the delicious looking options on the Yumbox website.
Price
Back up to £24.99. Perhaps a little steep… but if you’re struggling to get your children excited about the handful of nuts you want them to eat, this could turn out to be priceless.
