Make your own snacks
Snacks can be the downfall of any good nutrition plan. Even an absolutely angelic breakfast, lunch and dinner will be thrown off kilter by hourly trips to the vending machine.
If you like to nibble between meals, try preparing your own snack bites, so you know exactly what’s in them – it really needn’t take more than 30 minutes to make a week’s worth of between-meal-morsels.
You can make some tasty snack bites with oats, milk, a dribble of olive oil and a handful of nuts and seeds – just mix it all up, place in muffin tins and bake for 10-20 minutes (my own personal version is here and there is a similar recipe here that uses a little sugar, which you can swap for honey).
