Most of us like to eat fresh – and that’s understandable, juicy red peppers and bright green broccoli always looks more tempting in the supermarket than a plastic bag in the freezer isle (where it’s really cold, anyway..)
However, fruit and veg is often bagged and frozen soon after picking, which means you usually get the same, or more, nutrients from frozen produce. Frozen food means fewer trips to the supermarket, and less chance of food going off in the fridge (though that doesn’t happen in the home of a hungry cyclist).

Not only that, but many bags of frozen veg come prepared – frozen onion cubes are particularly useful for chucking into your cooking, and frozen spinach comes in lovely little balls that melt into stir fry’s and stews to add colour and goodness.
