Things you can do to recover outside of stretching…
There are many ways to help recovery after a day of impactful exercise, to prevent pain and stiffness on the following day. As well as trying this vinyasa yoga routine, athletes often try and consume foods that aid recovery from the inside. People who drink cherry juice after endurance training, experience less inflammation and oxidative stress compared to those who didn’t.
How will this yoga video help?
The yoga routine below from Abi Carver, uses a type of yoga called vinyāsa or flow. The quick transitions, while more challenging, is great for increasing movement in your joints and tight muscles.
“The workouts are based on sun salutations, moon salutations and lunge salutation variations that take the body through a diverse set of movement patterns” explains Abi Carver on her Yoga15 website.
“Moving through the poses circulates synovial fluid to the joints which allows the bones to glide over each other without friction. This fluid also delivers nutrients and oxygen to the cartilage, which unlike other body tissue, does not have its own blood supply. In each sequence we move through every plane of motion, carefully and with control.”
