The Madison Pursuit Gilet is a wind-proof and resistant to light-showers. It’s made from synthetic material and the mesh panel across the back gives good breathability. And at £35 with a lifetime warranty its extremely good value.
It has three rear pockets; two of these are open and one has a horizontal zip. Each of these was big enough to be useful and I could easily stash all my usual spares, keys and snacks. The two open pockets were elasticated at the top which helped to keep everything secure although aesthetically the elastic made the gilet pockets look a bit pulled.
The gilet I tried was bright fuchsia pink. I’m not a pink person as a rule but I loved the vibrancy of the colour. It also made for good visibility on the road. It also comes in blue and hi-viz yellow.
I tried out a size 10 which I found to be far too big for me; you’ll definitely want to buy a smaller, not larger size of this gilet. The gilet had a nice long back and was tapered at the waist for a women’s specific fit. I’m pear-shaped and so often find clothes too tight over my bum but surprisingly this gilet was really wide at the bottom and not too tight at all. I should have been pleased about this but I actually found it too baggy at the base.
Although there is a drawstring at the bottom of the Madison Pursuit Gilet to pull it all in but I’d rather have a closer fit to start with. There’s no pleasing some people sometimes. Conversely, if you’re pear-shaped and like a looser fit then this is definitely for you.

CONS
Generous Larger fit, go for a smaller size
