The easiest way to determine if your saddle’s fore/aft position is correct, is to go out for a ride, and let your ass do the talking.
Do you feel like you are always pushing yourself back or forward on the saddle to find the most comfortable bit?
If so, then the saddle’s fore/aft position isn’t correct. The fix for this is pretty easy.
First things first, you need to make sure your saddle is level. If you are pushing yourself back when you ride you simply need to slide the saddle forward and vice versa.
You might run into an issue with the saddle being all the way on the front or back of the rails once you make this adjustment. If so you will need a different seatpost. I won’t address that here, but feel free to let me know in the comments section, and I’ll tell you how to fix that.
If you still notice discomfort after making adjustments to the fore/aft position, it may be that the shape of the saddle is not quite right for you. Do not lose heart though, as you are still one step closer to finding your perfect match!
