There’s just a few days left to register a team for this year’s Brompton Urban Challenge (BUC), taking place in London on August 1st alongside the Prudential Ride London festival.
Brompton will be setting a selection of tasks and challenges to complete during the day – kicking off at the Brompton Junction store, and ending at the BWC Final at St James Park.

Details of the challenges will be sent to teams before the event, but we’re told you can expect to be answering questions such as “how many Bromptons can you fit in a phone box?”
You’ll collect a challenge card at 10am, and breakfast will be provided by MOMA. Following a leisurely start, you’ll head off to test your teamwork, orienteering ability and most importantly your creativity with challenges we can barely begin imagine.
Entry to the party costs just £10, with £5 going to the London Cycling Campaign – but you must sign up by July 17.
The overall winner will be selected by the public, and you’ll need to provide photo evidence (with at least 2 Bromptons in every picture) along the way.
If you don’t own a Brompton you can still take part by hiring a bike through the Bike Hire scheme. If you’re thinking of buying one, check out our buyer’s guide – which explains everything right up to H and S handlebars!
