Madison Genesis (British UCI Continental) have announced that former track team sprint world champion, Shanaze Reade has joined their 2015/16 rider line-up.

Reade, 26, has competed in both the 2008 and 2012 Olympics along with winning three BMX World Championship titles and has proven her talents in track racing numerous times including being part of the gold medal winning team at the first ever Women’s Team Sprint event at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships in 2007.

Formed in 2013, Madison Genesis is a British UCI Continental team with multiple victories and impressive performances on the international stage.

Reade, speaking about joining the Madison Genesis team, said:

“I am really excited to be on the Madison Genesis team, I love the bike and the kit so I can’t wait to use it at my first race next week at The Derby Revolution.”

She aims to concentrate on track cycling and will be taking part in the 2015/2016 Elite Track Cycling | Revolution Series for Madison Genesis and also the National Championships held in Manchester from the 25-27th September.

On the announcement, Roger Hammond, Madison Genesis Team Manager, said: “It’s fantastic to have Shanaze join Madison Genesis. As a former multi world champion and Olympian, Shanaze is a unique rider as she has competed at the highest level in different disciplines of the sport, in doing so gathering a wealth of experience that we can all learn from. It is going to be an amazing journey with the Rio Olympic Games looming in the not-too-distant future now. I’m really looking forward to being a small part of Shanaze’s preparations and ultimately, her bid for glory.”

TWC looks forward to following Reade’s success as part of the Madison Genesis Team over the rest of this year and during 2016.
