The Sunday Times have launched a timely winter petition: they’re asking the government to keep Royal Parks in London open for cyclists in the evenings, in order to provide routes that are safer than main roads during peak traffic hours.
As Ruth Chiat from Sustrans says in The Sunday Times: “the short winter days mean thousands of cyclists are forced onto surrounding roads during rush hour. With poor light and bad weather making it hard to see and be seen, it’s the worst time to lose access to our parks.”
