L’Eroica, which literally translates as ‘The Heroic Ones’ is the original vintage bicycle event. Taking place in the beautiful rolling hills around Tuscany, its focus is firmly on celebrating cycling heritage, with lovingly restored bicycles ridden along the chalky Strade Bianche, or white roads.
Everyone gets into the spirit, with outfits and carefully put together as the bicycles. The atmosphere is fun, celebratory, festive, but rarely competitive. For the heroes of L’Eroica, it’s about the journey, rather than the speed you travel at.
