Think bike, think helmet, right? We think so and you’d certainly not see us out on the trails without a suitable lid so, with that, we’ve been testing out some of the best MTB helmets on the market, starting with the Troy Lee Designs A2 MTB Helmet.
Troy Lee Designs has long been a supporter of women in mountain biking and were one of the few brands to cater for women when no one else would. Last year, we were pretty stoked on their trail collection, and so, expectations were high when we got the A2 lid strapped on.
Troy Lee Designs A2 MTB Helmet
This helmet is packed with features to protect your noggin;
There’s a 25% increase in air-flow from its predecessor, the A1 – odour control and moisture wicking liner – Dual Density EPS co-moulded with EPP with more protection in the frontal lobe – reinforced polycarbonate shell – rear stabilizing fit with three visor positions.
It’s hard to believe all these safety-queen features pack so neatly and efficiently into such a low profile and slim shape. Expanded polystyrene (EPS) is your more common helmet material and Troy Lee Designs has combined this with EPP, a softer material for low-velocity impacts providing even more protection.
