Illness Forces Joanna Rowsell to Withdraw from The Women’s Tour

Joanna Rowsell forced to withdraw from Women's Tour.

Wiggle Honda rider, Joanna Rowsell has been forced to withdraw from the inaugural Women’s Tour due to illness.

Taking advice from her doctor the rider has decided to withdraw from the race after suffering a bout of flu. The rider who has Olympic and World Championship success to her name had been included in the line up for the Wiggle Honda team for the event.

Speaking to the BBC, Rowsell expressed her disappointment:

“I am obviously very disappointed,” the 25-year-old said. “I had been really looking forward to being part of the event in it’s first year.”

She did say she will be following the event closely and will no doubt be shouting support for her fellow teammates.
