Finding plus-sized cycling clothing is no easy task. Offerings are limited and are often only available in the US. So it is great to see a brand new, ultra flattering range of cycling clothing appear in the UK market. Following the success of the Fat Lad At the Back cyclewear collection, the company has launched a women’s specific range, Fat Lass At the Back.
One of the best things about Fat Lass at the Back is the fact it has acknowledged that women come in a lot different shapes and sizes and this is reflected in the range. The brand’s unique sizing is based on your bust, waist and hip measurements rather than the standard “L, XL” sizing, which is inaccurate, inconsistent and often leads to ill-fitting clothing, which doesn’t flatter the female form.
The range has addressed two main issues with women’s cycling clothing – fit and length. The cut of the jerseys have been tailored to follow the shape of the female body and flattering shaped side panels enhance the waist and slim the body-line. Additional length has been added to the jerseys so wearers feel just as comfortable out of the saddle as they do in it.
The range at the moment is reasonably limited with just four jerseys and a ¾ length padded tight. Prices are reasonable with the short sleeved jersey priced at £49.99, the long sleeved jersey at £59.99 and the tights at £44.99. Additional winter pieces will be available for Autumn/Winter 2014.
