10 Unmissable Cycling Jerseys with Bags of Style

We're rounded up some of our favourite 2016 designs so far

Confidence comes from within – and we know that cycling can help to grow that inner strength for many of us. However, a little help from external factors is always nice, and a cool jersey can go a long way to making you feel your best on the bike.

There are so many great brands making awesome kit for women these days. However, of course we’ve got a few favourites – here are just some of the jerseys we’re loving this summer…

Pearl Izumi Women’s Elite Pursuit Ltd Women’s Cycling Jersey

Designed for hot and sunny days, this jersey features all the wicking and breathability you’d expect, with Pearl Izumi’s ELITE transfer fabric.

The vibrant design is teamed with high stretch panels for a flattering fit and the fabric features UPF sun protection and elasticated grippers on the hem mean it’ll stay put.

See it here for £69.99.

Specialized SL Pro Jersey in Boels-Dolmans Colours

We cannot help but be a little bit in love with this jersey – it’s like a sunset you can wear! Based on Boels-Dolmans team colours, it shows support for the World Tour dominating squad, without appearing to impersonate.

We reviewed this jersey recently – and were so impressed with the fit and comfort, though we liked the matching shorts a little more. The material is light and breathable, though we’d say sizes come up a little  big – so we’d recommend not sizing up as you might usually do with ‘pro’ gear.

See it here for £100 – there are other colour options available, and sizes go from XS to XL.

Pactimo  “Van Winkle” Jersey by Matthew Burton

The thing we love about Colorado based Pactiomo is the endless choice of jersey designs they offer – particularly within their ‘artist’ series. All of the jerseys feature stretch panels for a great fit, quick drying material, grippers at the waist and three useful rear pockets – but they’re each given an individual design by a chosen artist.

This ice cream print is perfect for summer and is our absolute fave – it’s available for £80 here.

Morvelo Women’s Pancho Women’s Cycling Jersey

How could we talk stylish jerseys, and not bring Morvelo into it?

This basic training jersey will keep sweat away from your skin, has a full zip and all the pockets you’d expect. On top of that, it’s got a rad design we can’t help but want on our backs.

As it’s a day-to-day training jersey and not created to offer race performance, it’s only £60 here, t00.

Primal Impression Women’s Cycling Jersey

Though some of us want to display a bit of aggression with a design like Morvelo’s Panther – that’s not the case for all. Primal describe their ‘impression’ jersey  as a “wearable canvas that is the modern masterpiece of the Impression” – if you’re after something a bit more feminine, this might be it.

The fabric is the brand’s own ‘SpeedPro’- a technical material designed to offer maximum moisture and temperature control. The printing process is super advanced, so colours remain vibrant without interfering with the practical considerations – too.

See it here for £50.

dhb Blok Women’s Short Sleeve Women’s Cycling Jersey in Prism

We’re big fans of dhb and their wide range of clothing options – all at great prices and with matching accessories from arm warmers to socks.

This Prism jersey took our fancy, as is available in two colour options, and sized from 8 to 16. It also features an Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) of 30+ and an antibacterial treatment, which makes it great for summer riding.

See it here, for £45.

Queen of the Mountains Race Jersey

We interviewed Alicia Bamford just before she launched her women’s clothing brand – Queen of the Mountains.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll probably know the launch was a huge success and women all over the country have been singing the praises of this kit. There are two jerseys available – a race fit (£120) in aqua or coral (pictured) or a classic jersey (£90) with a Mt Ventoux inspired print. We love the simple, bold lines and colour contrast of the race jersey – but you can see the full range here.

Polaris Vision Women’s Cycling Jersey

Geometric patterns seems to be the ‘in’ thing at the moment, because it seems like all the brands are at it! This ‘Vision’ version from Polaris caught our eye, though. Available in three different colours, it’s got stretch panels at the sides and as well as three standard pockets, there’s a safety zipped one too.

Unlike most in our list, it’s just got a 3/4 length zip too – for those who prefer not to zip up all the way.

See it here for £64.99.

Bontrager Anara Short Sleeve Women’s Cycling Jersey

We wore this jersey with the matching shorts on our TWC20 shoot – and it was one of our favourites. Bought by Trek back in 1995, Bontrager make clothing, shoes, and helmets as well as wheels and components.

The  brand aim to provide just a few ‘looks’, that are well thought out, with assorted matching accessories available. The Anara features  ‘Profila Dry’ fabric with strategically placed ‘Profila Cool’ mesh inserts, and though designed to provide a fairly athletic fit, isn’t tight or restrictive. For those afraid of ruining white material with grubby fingers, there’s a black version with pink details too.

See it here for £69.99.

Ale PRR Camo Women’s Cycling Jersey

All of the kit we’ve tested from this brand provides a really fantastic fit – and we particularly like the way the grippers on the hems dip down at the hips to create a flattering look that feels pretty aero.

Since the brand sponsor pro women’s team Ale Cipollini, you know you’re getting quality gear – too. The front of the jersey is micro perforated material for breathability and the back has carbon fabric built in for improved temperature management.

Of course, camo isn’t up everyone’s street – there are other styles, but you can see this one here for £90.
