Although a road specific top, the Craft Active Women’s Jersey doesn’t feel restrictive like some road jerseys can do. It is made from a soft fabric with a nice matt finish. It also doesn’t have elastic grippy hem or cuffs, allowing a more relaxed fit.
The quarter length zip enables reasonable air flow, and I really liked the high cut collar which protects your neck from the sun and from the wind.
The fit was good, and although felt a little clingy initially it was comfortable. I particularly liked the longer body and sleeve length, both of which provided plenty of coverage and remained in place even without the elastic grippers. The main jersey body material is contrasted with a lighter vented fabric under the arms to improve airflow.
One feature I particularly liked is the three very deep rear pockets as well as a separate zipped pocket. The zipped pocket even has an opening for a headphone cable if you choose. The downside of such large and elaborate pockets is there is a tendency to overstuff them, which was comfortable and well balanced for riding, but looked a bit awkward.
The colour and styling are nice, and felt particularly feminine in a bright pink colour with light pink highlights and graphic design to finish it off.
VerdictThe Craft Active Women’s Jersey is a well thought out all round road top ideal for longer rides where wind or sun protection may be an issue and where you want plenty of pocket space to fuel the day’s adventure.
