It may be London Fashion Week here in the UK, but we’re not interested in the latest high street trends. No. We’re flying out to Las Vegas and the Interbike Expo to report on what’s set to be hot in the world of cycling for 2014.
Interbike is North America’s largest bike expo, think The Cycle Show at the NEC on steroids. With in excess of 750 companies representing over 1,200 brands we’re sure to find some hot off the press cycling products to showcase, whether it’s road, MTB or urban – Interbike will have it covered, and then some.
Now in it’s thirteenth year, Interbike is undergoing a facelift of sorts, relocating after 12 years being hosted at The Sands Convention Center. The move has made some exhibitors anxious, thinking ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ but organisers are confident that the Mandalay Bay Convention Center – the expo’s new home – offers greater opportunities, such as the Paddock.
Probably the most significant addition to this year’s show is the all-new Paddock at Interbike. This new feature allows attendees to explore and test products in a way that could never previously be accomplished. To top that off, on Thursday evening the Paddock will play host to the biggest celebration of cycling in North America. The final race in the USA CRITS series will take place on an expanded version of the test track where a new men’s and women’s champion will be crowned.
You don’t have to be a member of the industry, or even fork out on flights to Las Vegas to see what the bike industry has to offer. Total Women’s Cycling editor Kirsty has taken one for the team and will be reporting the highs and lows from the show all this week.
So get ready to take part in Interbike through the lens of our Total Women’s Cycling editorial team, we’ll have galleries galore over the remainder of the week.
