The Olympic year is done and dusted, and British Cycling’s Team GB riders are turning their thoughts to the season ahead. A new season means new kit, and the National cycling body has unveiled what their riders will be wearing to kill it in 2017.
The new kit has been designed by KALAS – a Czech custom cycle wear specialist brand that was revealed as the new kit sponsor in November last year. They’ll supply on and off the bike clothing for all riders over a four-year period, replacing Adidas.
Riders across all disciplines will wear the bespoke kit, in various different styles to suit their sport. In all cases, the Union Flag is included as well as a new ‘camouflage style’ map.
Great Britain Cycling Team head coach Iain Dyer said: “We are delighted to be working with KALAS. From the start of our process to recruit a new clothing supplier, Kalas demonstrated a detailed understanding of the performance demands of such a technical partnership. Having a kit supplier with their in-depth knowledge and high level of service is invaluable to the Great Britain Cycling Team.”
The key road jersey is the ‘Razor’, which has been designed to deliver maximum comfort and performance, with active seams and bonded hem edges to the sleeves. KALAS say the result is a perfectly fitting jersey offering great aero performance.
Kalas director and co-owner Jakub Věncek added: “Working with British Cycling and the Great Britain Cycling Team has opened up some exciting opportunities for Kalas to demonstrate our capabilities. For over 25 years we’ve been developing premium cycling kit. We have made these new elements and technologies, introduced in to the 2017 kit design, available for fans of the team to experience during their rides and races.”
Replica kit will be available from March 1 and can soon be pre-ordered from the online KALAS store.
