HOY Vulpine clothing launched early this year, offering a range of apparel for performance and leisure cyclists with an understated style and a wallet friendly price tag.

Of course, those who adored the reasonably priced El Toro Bib shorts and Valldemossa Race Jersey will no doubt be looking for kit that will cater for them in the changing British climate, and HOY Vulpine are ready with a wardrobe full of practical, winter ready style.

Probably our favourite thing about HOY Vulpine’s brand is their approach to making women’s kit. Every item comes in men’s and women’s fit, with the same fabric and attention to detail, and the same colour scheme. Pink and Shrink does not exist in the universe of Hoy or Hussey (Vulpine’s founder).

When we interviewed him in February, Sir Chris told us: “We don’t want to patronise women and say you should be wearing pink shirts, pink shorts and fluffy things. It is about making cycling appeal to everyone, why should it be different? Obviously there are anatomical differences in the bib shorts and different cuts to make sure it fits the shape [of a woman] but it is more about making it appealing to everybody.”

The equality of availability continues in the Autumn/Winter range, which includes waterproofs, softshell jackets, as well as arm and leg warmers and causal clothing.

The only exception, we can’t help notice, is the Cortardo Fleece Hoody.  This would be a shame, since there’s nothing better than sipping a Cortardo in a café somewhere when it’s too wet to ride. However, if we’re honest hoodies are one of those items which we’ve been stealing off our dads, brothers, boyfriends and husbands since the year dot.
