The cycling world watched with bated breath as Wiggins attacked the Hour at Lee Valley Velodrome yesterday.

He is the new Hour Record Holder, having covered 54.526km in sixty minutes – and everyone at TWC extends a huge congratulations to him for joining the ranks of great names who have held the honour.

Of course, everyone loves a good ‘Wiggins quote’ – and after his Hour, the Brit rider came out with a corker. Following the effort, he told reporters:

I’m just glad it’s done. That’s the closest to knowing what it’s like to have a baby… It was tortuous. You’re counting down the minutes.
