Voxwomen Cycling Show Goes Worldwide With New TV Deals

More TV coverage on the way for the women's peloton thanks to YouTube sensation

Female pro cyclists and industry experts repeat time and time again that one of the major barriers holding back women’s cycling is a lack of TV coverage.

Thankfully, Voxwomen are on a mission to change that – and we’re pleased to announce that they’ve successfully sealed a deal that will allow women’s cycling fans to watch worldwide.

Voxwomen’s programme will be broadcast via Bloomberg Television and will also be available via online channel, Cycling.TV, which has thousands of subscribers who pay an annual or quarterly subscription.

Bloomberg will air the lifestyle show on their European, Middle East and Asian Network for the remainder of 2015.

The programme, which began its life as a YouTube sensation, was aired on British Eurosport as a pilot episode for the first time earlier this month.

The 24-minute cycling show aims to put female riders in the spotlight, with racing news, tips, and recipes – whilst showing the unique personalities of the women in the peloton. The date and time of the first show is yet to be released but should be in the coming weeks.

To be able to showcase the sport to a worldwide audience really is a stepping stone in the right direction for women’s cycling

The Voxwomen team consists of Bryony Burton, Kimberley Keay, Laura Winter and Lois Dowsett. Speaking for all four, Kimberley said: “To be able to showcase the sport to a worldwide audience really is a stepping stone in the right direction for women’s cycling. We couldn’t be happier with the feedback from the first show and we will continue to work hard to produce further content for cycling fans.”

Anthony McCrossan, UCI Women’s Commentator and Voxwomen Founder, said: “We have been overwhelmed with the positive reviews and feedback of our first Voxwomen Cycling Show. It’s incredible how many people are keen to watch and support women’s cycling and we’re delighted that we can now take the programme to a larger audience.

“We’d like to thank Cycling.TV and Bloomberg for their support in helping to raise the profile of women’s cycling and we look forward to continuing to bring fans the best women’s cycling action, news and updates.”

John Byatt at Cycling TV added: “Cycling.TV has long been looking to find more ways to support and showcase professional women’s cycling and the brilliantly produced and highly anticipated Voxwomen Cycling Show allows us to do just that.

“We are very pleased that we can now offer both men and women’s professional road cycling to our North American and Worldwide subscribers.”
