Safety in numbers is a common practise amongst cyclists, whether it’s road or MTB. The danger of riding alone is if we were to have an accident, could you be found and helped easily.
The fitness social networking app Strava has just launched its latest feature for premium members: Beacon. It allows you to share your live location with a selection of your friends so they can see where you are along your journey. This provides you and your loved ones with peace of mind.
After enabling Beacon, you can select up to three safety contacts, who will receive a text message with a unique URL when your ride begins. Safety contacts can click the URL to track you on a map in real time, as well as view the your remaining battery power. Contacts do not need a Strava account to view real-time information either.
