CANYON//SRAM pro cycling are teaming up with social fitness media platform Zwift to find their next women’s team rider for 2017. If you’re dedicated and talented – that rider could be you. If you’re not quite on the brink of pro, you still have the chance to follow their training programme to see yourself progress!
Since the start of CANYON//SRAM last year, the team set out to be the leaders in women’s racing, and they are really taking charge with this new initiative to find a raw cycling talent to add to their already impressive roster.
“We will announce a series of tasks and group rides that Zwift users will be completing” – Directeur Sportif Beth Duryea.
To have the chance to show your skills, and the size of your cycling engine, CANYON//SRAM and Zwift will team up to launch a program called “CANYON//SRAM Racing, ZWIFT Academy Project”. By downloading and registering the Zwift app, you’ll be able to take part in specific challenges set by the women’s pro team in order to assess your skill.
Starting in March 2016, the program will whittle down riders depending on their task results until there is just one female left, who will be offered a contract for the 2017 season.
This unique recruitment opportunity offers all female riders across the globe, the chance to train like the pros, and aspire to join one of the strongest women’s pro cycling teams. Anyone woman can sign up, even if you’re just looking for a strict training program to follow.
It’s an exciting year for women’s cycling, and this innovative move by the CANYON//SRAM pro team is something to keep an eye on to see who will earn that 2017 contract.
