MTB video: The Good, The Bad And The…

Get your grrrr on and psych yourself up for your next MTB ride with this fab video from VG Mediastudio featuring three amazing women riders; Julia Hoffman, Anita Gehrig, and Carolin Gehrig (yes, they are twins).

The film opens with a Devil and angel conversation about line choice – boy, have we had that internal chat – before it kicks into some skilled mountain bike action. Featuring trails we dearly wish we could ride on and a killer soundtrack to match. Enjoy!

The riders

Julia Hoffman races for Marin Bikes, and has a background in enduro racing. Anita and Carolin (or Caro) both ride for Specialized, and have an equally impressive race CV, with both racing enduro and four-cross.

All three women have been riding in this years new Enduro World Series, regularly placing within the top 50% of women riders competing.

We’re really happy to see that there are more and more great videos coming out featuring female riders. For a start, there are great riders out there that deserve more recognition. Secondly, we love to watch these women shred, and find them particularly inspirational.

Who else has heard the angel and devil whispering in their ear? ‘yes you can do it!’ and ‘no, take the chicken line!’

What they’re wearing

We also found ourselves coveting a lot of kit. Anita and Carolin are wearing some rather cool outfits by Swiss company Zimtstern, one of their sponsors. You may be familiar with their winter sports kit, but they also do bike kit, characterized by bright colours and featuring their trademarked star motif.

Unfortunately you can’t buy it off the shelf in the UK at the moment, but you can purchase it direct from Zimtstern and have it shipped over.

The women are also riding in POC kneepads; we put a pair through their paces recently, so watch this space for our review.
