Cycletta, the UK’s leading women only cycle series welcomes Macmillan Cancer Support as title partner of the series which will now be known as Macmillan Cycletta.
The series returns in 2014 following its most successful year ever in 2013 as almost 4000 women were encouraged to get on their bikes. The events have seen growth of more than 130% since its inception just three years ago.
Olympic champion, Victoria Pendleton who will continue as an ambassador for the series said: “It has been such a pleasure to be involved with Macmillan Cycletta so far.
“I’m proud to have been a part of it since the very beginning and am delighted to see more and more women continue to take up cycling.”
Macmillan Cycletta 2014 caters for cyclists of all ages and abilities, and will feature:
– Novice: 20km
– Classic: 40km
– Challenge: 60-70km (varies, based on location)
– Macmillan Cycletta 100km: 100km (no surprises there!)
The new longer route has been created due to demand from the Macmillan Cycletta audience for a longer women only cycle route. This new 100km distance will be available at Macmillan Cycletta New Forest and Scotland events.
All Macmillan Cycletta routes will wind through sensational surroundings on quiet, safe and well-managed roads. Also, Macmillan Cycletta is open to girls as young as 12-16 years old when accompanied by an adult.
