Cycling UK is backing Welsh Government proposals to open up most footpaths in Wales to cycling and horse riding, and they need the public endorsement to see it happen.
Currently, cycling and horse riding are only permitted on 21% of the entire rights of way network in Wales. Over 4,500 members of the public have already shown their support for the new proposal including recently retired downhill mountain biker, Manon Carpenter.
Manon Carpenter said: “I think the Welsh Government are 100% right to encourage the population to get out and enjoy being outside and in the Welsh countryside because it’s a great asset and it’s a great way to spend your time. It would be great to see the Welsh Government lift restrictions.
