The London Design Festival is in full sway, showcasing the best in innovative, creative design across London, and the iconic and beautiful Brompton Bicycles are taking part, giving you the chance to design your own dream Brompton, and have it built before your very eyes.
The London Design Festival runs from the 13th to the 21st of September, with the aim of celebrating and promoting London as the design capital of the world. Shops, designers and companies across London are involved, with events and pop-ups taking place across the 6 ‘design districts’.
Brompton are, appropriately enough, in the Brompton District around South Kensington, with a pop-up ‘Build a Brompton’ shop. They’ve constructed a factory come showroom in a former underground garage, where you can browse the various parts of the bicycles, choose your colours, and the skilled Brompton Bicycle engineers will assemble it before your very eyes.
The most difficult part of the process is choosing which of the colours to go for; there are even some special limited edition shades just for this event.
Pop along this weekend to see it for yourself, but we warn you – walking away without a shiny new bike may be difficult!
