Cycliq – the brand that brought you front and rear bike lights which also act as video cameras – have launched a sleek new mount that will keep everything neat on your handlebars.
The Duo Mount is a lightweight, strong and multi-functional bike mount that will hold both your cycling computer and camera or light, all in one place. That’s right – no more ‘I can’t put my hands on the tops because my bike light is in the way’ when climbing in winter (no? just me?!)
Cycliq are launching their new product via Kickstarter – the same way they brought about the successful Fly6 rear and Fly12 front lights, which raised 281 per cent and 273 per cent of their targets respectively.
The mount is made from aircraft grade 7075 aluminum – which means it’s both strong and resistant to corrosion, and the unit is expected to weigh 50g.
The mount is compatible with almost any bike computer without having to purchase additional adapters – everything comes in one pack and supported brands include Garmin, Wahoo, Polar, Cateye and Mio/Magellan.
You can also connect any action camera or light that uses a typical universal mounting system with three fins – that incudes GoPro’s and the Garmin Virb.
The brand need to raise 20,000ASD for completion – but they also hope in launching this new project they’ll be able to say ‘thanks’ to their initial funders by offering the mount for a reduced price on the Kickstater platform. One mount will cost $39AUD, which is approximately £24 – a reduction on the anticipated RRP of £59.
Cycliq CEO Andrew Hagen said: “The Kickstarter community helped build Cycliq into the company we are today and we are incredibly grateful for their support and enthusiasm. In the early days, a great many people shared our vision for Fly6 and Fly12 and we would now like to give something back to those people as a sign of our appreciation.
“By launching the Duo Mount through Kickstarter, we’re giving the crowdfunding community first opportunity to purchase the mount and will do so at a significant discount. It’s a way of saying thank you for helping us to grow a successful business.”
The Kickstarter Campaign will run for 30 days between 1st November 2016 and 1st December 2016. Mounts for the first 400 early backers are projected to begin shipping before the holiday season.
