The Belles of Belvoir is a fun and challenging ladies-only sportive taking place around the beautiful Vale of Belvoir on Sunday the 7th of June.
It’s the first planned ride from 2 Wheels and a Piece of Cake which was set up by Emma and Britta, two women who made friends in the school playground over their love for bikes. The event will see like-minded women meet for a breathtaking ride around the Vale of Belvoir, an area of outstanding beauty in the Leicestershire borders.
With two routes on offer to ride, the event welcomes riders from all levels. The first standard 24 mile route will see approximately 250 meters of climbing and is a great place for beginner sportive riders to get stuck into. Passing through quiet country lanes and pretty villages, it’s one very picturesque route. The second, a challenging 50 mile ride, will see more experienced cyclists take in 700 meters of climbing, riding around the Vale of Belvoir itself.
Emma and Britta are firm believers that a long ride isn’t complete without a brew and slice of home-made cake and, we couldn’t agree more. Offering ‘Piece of Cake’ stations and refreshments en-route, you’ll also scoop up a goody bag, mechanical support and advice, a celebratory lunch and the option for a post-ride session with a trained sports massage therapist!
Keep an eye on their site for the next planned ride which will be for lads and ladies. We hope to see you there!
