Love for women’s cycling has been rapidly increasing with more and more women hopping on two wheels and finding their freedom outside – or on the track.
With the growing popularity of our much loved sport, many big bike brands, trail centres and manufacturers are starting to listen and accommodate women’s cycling demands. Women’s evenings and classes are popping up throughout our calander in the attempt to encourage and promote the sport, and also bring together our pedalling community.
However, we were a little surprised when first heard that Swiss cycling brand, ASSOS, were hosting a women’s night in London. The reason for our trepidation is that ASSOS haven’t always been in our good graces when it comes to their sexist marketing campaigns. However, they’re adamant that they’ve done an about turn and are keen to win back the female audience.
This year, ASSOS’ CEO released a statement which indicated their new brand message and efforts to support and promote women’s cycling. So far, we’ve been quite impressed. It comes as somewhat of a relief that their fantastic and high quality range of bib shorts and jerseys will no longer be let down by sleazy product images.
With their about-turn, ASSOS are teaming up with London’s very own Look Mum No Hands to host an evening dedicated to the rise of women’s cycling with guest speakers, Q&A sessions and the chance to meet like minded cyclo-holics.
When: Monday September 5th 2016 @ 19:00
Where: Look Mum No Hands, London, EC1V 9HX
