Unstoppable Rachel Atherton Becomes World Cup Champion

After dominating at Mont Sainte. Anne, Rachel Atherton becomes Cup Champion... and still with one round left

She’s had an unstoppable season this year, Rachel Atherton scoops the win in Canada at the weekend and can safely call herself the World Cup Champion for 2016.

Having won all 6 rounds so far this season, Rachel Atherton has accumulated a whopping 480 point lead in the overall standings. Even with one round to go in Vallnord, Rachel has dominated this season.

Starting this year with Trek Factory Racing and riding the stunning new Trek Session downhill rig, Rachel has obliterated records by raking up and impressive 12 consecutive wins.

Mont Sainte Anne 2016 women’s results

  1. Rachel Atherton – 4:37.448
  2. Tracey Hannah – 4:48.604
  3. Tahnee Seagrave – 4:50.530
  4. Manon Carpenter – 4:50.479
  5. Miranda Miller – 4:50.979

Despite dominating the season, let’s not forget the constant heat that young Brit Tahnée Seagrave has been putting on the World Champ. With a hunger for the top spot, Seagrave has noticeably upped her game this season with some seriously close second spots to Rachel.

The next and final round of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup takes place in Vallnord, Andorra on September 3rd.
