SmartWool PhD Racerback sports bra review

The SmartWool PhD Racerback, a supportive, Merino-wool sports bra with a great range of styles.

A compression bra, made from Merino wool, perfect for wicking sweat while keeping your boobs in place.

The SmartWool PhD Racerback Sports Bra is seemless and clasp-less which, combined with the fact that it’s made from Merino wool, means that it’s super comfortable and easy to forget once you’re wearing it.

Surprisingly, although it’s gorgeous when the weather is cold, it’s comfortable in warmer weather and never feels sweaty – even if you are. The elastic ribcage band, if you buy the correct size, is tight enough to give support, but doesn’t leave you feeling as if you can’t breathe, as some sports bras do. You also don’t get any nasty pinching or digging-in from metal clasps.

The bras racerback stops the need metal clasps, but is does prove rather testing getting in and out of the bra!

To test it to the max I wore it on a mountain biking ‘Drops and Jumps’ course, and never felt let down. It washes well and doesn’t lose its shape – or let odours cling. The only downside is that it is difficult to get off, and a bit of Harry Houdini wriggling is needed.

Verdict

A super comfortable yet heavy-duty sport bra that’s great in all weathers and all conditions
