TweedLove Bike Festival 2013 is a ten-day extravaganza of bike-riding and good times in the Tweed Valley, Scotland.
Boasting that they’ve got the best concentration of mountain and road biking options on their doorstep up in the Tweed Valley in Scotland, they are keen to invite you to share their back yard! 100% organised by bike riders it will certainly be a celebration of all things bike!
Featuring over 20 events, there’s certainly something for everyone, whether you ride trails, tracks or road.
Running from Friday 24th May right through to Sunday 2nd June, Tweedlove encompasses everything from Enduro racing on some of the best singletrack the UK has to offer, right through to bivvy nights in the hills and free guided rides, including the ever popular Natural Tweed – a group ride into the hills on natural trails.
Now in it’s fourth year, TweedLove is as popular as ever, with one of the twenty events, the POC Queen of the Hill Enduro selling out all entry places. Neil Dalgleish, director of TweedLove, commented: “This year’s festival is set to be the biggest we’ve had to date, entries are definitely going faster than they ever have.”
“The second weekend of TweedLove coincides with the BDS round at Innerleithen – some of the biggest names in global downhill have confirmed they’re going to be there. There’s going to be a real buzz in the Tweed Valley as TweedLove and the BDS help set the stage for the first round of the UCI World Cup at Fort William the following weekend.”
TweedLove isn’t just a mountain biking festival, lots of the events over the 10 days celebrate all things lycra clad. There are no fat tyres in SkinnyTweed, just some top road riding and good company. A free 44-mile guide-supported road ride, SkinnyTweed is hosted by Peebles Cycling Club, round a beautiful circuit of quiet country roads, with a stop for food and a very sociable demeanour.
