Whether you’ve always fancied giving downhill a go, or you just want to step up your skills in a friendly and relaxed environment, then you might want to check out Diva Descent.
Initially a women’s only downhill race series, it’s now evolved into coaching weekends and holidays. This year, as well as downhill, they’ll also be covering the hugely popular discipline of enduro.
The courses aren’t just taught by qualified mountain bike coaches; there’s usually a professional racer (or two!) on hand to share skills, tips and feedback. This year, that includes Katy Curd, who is competing in the UCI DH World Cup Series. Also involved will be Aimee Dix, Bex Reilly and Tara Lee.
Some of the 2014 race and course dates have just been announced; for more information and to find out how to get your place on one of the events, click here.
If you can’t make one of the courses, Diva Descent also often co-ordinate women’s uplift days.
And at the end of the season, you can put your newly honed skills to the test in the Diva Descent DH race.
