The Icebreaker Oasis Long Sleeve Crewe has just landed on my desk and so far I am liking what I see. Here are my first impressions:

• It is made from 100% merino wool which means it should remain pong free, even when we put it through its paces. It should also be nice and breathable, wick away moisture and most importantly keep us cosy in colder weather. The addition of a half zip will also contribute to more effective temperature regulation.
• It is soft! From my first little fondle, it feels considerably softer than last season’s Oasis Crewe. As somebody with ridiculously sensitive skin this already makes me excited to test it.
• It has a feminine fit. Always keen to avoid the dreaded muffin top and kidney chill, I am happy to report that it looks like Icebreaker have allowed ample material to keep you covered even when you are down on your drops.
• It’s machine washable. There’s nothing worse than a piece of kit that you have to handwash and that will take forever to dry. The manufacturers claim this top can be thrown into the washing machine and will dry in a jiffy.
