Mums' Corner

Hamax Launch Combined Pushchair, Child Trailer and Jogging Stroller

Do it all pram for active parents will be available early in 2016

It looks like the world is gradually waking up to the idea that many new mums want to stay active – and the brand new Outback from Hamax is the perfect companion.

The bike trailer, stroller and jogger has been created by the Norwegian market leaders in child seats, Hamax. The brand have a product development team in the Netherlands, where trailers and cargo bikes are extremely popular, and hope to see them become more frequently used in the UK.

The most exciting detail on the Outback is the multi use features. A removable front wheel means it can be a pram, or a bike trailer, and a larger front wheel can be used for off-road jogging.

Sturdy wheels, with Schwalbe tyres, and adjustable suspension mean that you can run or cycle over a variety of terrain, safe in the knowledge your little ones are enjoying a comfortable ride.

Inside the carrier, there is plenty of cosy padding, which can be removed for cleaning thanks to velcro fitting.

There is a five point harness for safety, and Hamax have ensured there is extra space behind the head rests for a child’s helmet, as well as adding in-built mosquito nets, and rain shields which can be rolled up or down independently.

There is  rear light attached to the handle, which folds down to the bottom of the carrier when in use as a bike trailer, and a zipped compartment which can be used to transport anything else you need to carry with you.

To top it all off, the trailer packs away easily for storage – which is almost always a plus, especially if your home is stretching out to to fit a growing family.

The Outback will be available from early next year, and retails at £649, or £679 with the extra wheel sets.
