Give your bike a spooky edge this Halloween with our Cycle Style special!
If, like Total Women’s Cycling deputy editor Aoife, you like cycling and skulls then we’ve got some trick’r’treats in store for you.
1. Light up the night
Dark and blustery evenings add to the excitement of Halloween, and just because lights are practical, safe and a legal requirement, doesn’t mean they can’t be fun! There were so many cute skull lights to choose from, we had a hard time selecting only three.
a. Knog Blinder Skull Light, £21.99, available from Chain Reaction Cycles, Tredz Cycles
b. Skull LED light, £1.99 to £3.99, available from Planet-X Bikes, Chain Reaction Cycles
c. Crazy Stuff Front Light, £6.82, available from Tesco
2. Dia de los Muertos cycling jersey
We searched the globe to find a perfect jersey for riding into work on Halloween, or heading into the dark woods for a witching hour night ride. Of course, you don’t need to save for just once a year.
Made by US company Bicidichi, you’ll need to get this one shipped over from the States if you fancy it. We love the fact it would match the bike and socks on the list!
Dia de los Muertos Jersey, available from Bicidichi.
Price: $75 (approx. £46.50, plus postage)
Sizes: S (chest 35, waist 31), M (chest 37, waist 33), L (chest 39, waist 35), XL (chest 41, waist 37) – measurements in inches.
Available from: Bicidichi in the US
3. Protect your skull
Keep your cranium intact with a stylish helmet offering from Bell helmets, featuring a Scurvy Skull design from Paul Frank. We’ve cheated here a little, as this is actually at 2012 design, but handily it’s still available in a few places, and it’ll be on sale!
Bell Faction helmet with Paul Frank skull design
Price: £27 approx.
Sizes: XS, S

4. Skeletal digits
Keep your hands warm, visible and ghostly with these winter gloves from Northwave. Made from a windproof material with gel padding on the palm, the Skeleton W-Gel gloves have all the features you need to perform effectively on cold, dark nights.
The skeleton print on the back of the glove comes in either ghoulish white or high-vis yellow, and the print on the palm is a grippy silicone.
Indicating will never be the same.
