Christmas Gifts for Cycling Households

Like to decorate your home with cycling accessories? We got you covered...

Cyclists like to live in packs. Not all of us, some are the lone enthusiasts within a household of people who think we’re nutters, but very often where you find one bike rider, you’ll find more.

If you live in a velo-home among other cyclists, it’s not unlikely you’ll have positioned little homages to your hobby around the house. As long as there’s wall space that’s not already taken up by carefully positioned bikes.

Of course, there’s always room for more. So if you like to decorate your home with cycling inspired accessories, then we’ve got a sack full of treats just for you…

11 Things People Who Live With Other Cyclists Will Understand

Bicycle Trip Pillow Case

For anyone searching for a bicycle themed pillow or pillowcase, there are A LOT of options out there. But we really liked this made to order pillow from DelightfulVintageUK. It’s 12×18 inches, made from Polycotton fabric and costs £6.99. See it here.

Park Tool Pizza Cutter

If you are a cyclist, who lives with other cyclists, and you don’t have a Park Tool Pizza cutter in your kitchen draw then you need to remedy this. It is, quite simply, a basic requirement.

Bicycle Bookends

Reading up on all your favourite cycling tales over Christmas? These will keep your bookcase tidy. They come from Traidcraft, an organisation that works with small businesses across the world to fight poverty – and in this case they’re made by Noah’s Ark, an Indian supplier that supports artisans and their families with fair wages. See them here for £18.

Home Sweet Home Bike Non-Slip Doormat

Make sure all of your friends know they’re entering a cycle-friendly household with this lovely doormat. You can find it here from Cyclemiles for £19.50, and we’ve rounded up four more cycling themed doormats for you here.

Target Velo Bike Kit

Target Velo offer a fantastic selection of minature hand made bicycles, that come as a set of components, ready to be assembled. The bikes work like real machines, and building up your own presents an awesome Christmas challenge (especially if you all get one, then you can turn it into a competition). There are road, mountain, track and aero bikes – as well as custom options. See them here from around £25.

Topeak Joe Blow Sport II Track Pump

Every cycling household needs a track pump. There are some beautiful CNC-ed aluminium pumps out there, but if you want simple and easy inflation for Presta and Schrader valves, this one is highly recommended. The gauge is easy to use, and the steel barrel and base are resilient. Not pretty, but it is functional (and tyres that roll well ARE beautiful).

Men’s Society Bicycle Leather Wine Holder

Ok, so it comes from the ‘men’s society’ – but any woman who has been into cycling for long enough is probably used to being treated like one of the boys from time to time (like it or not).

This leather wine holder is designed to take your average bottle of plonk, and comes in a lovely presentation box. See it her for £35.

Bianchi Cafe and Cycles Espresso Cup and Saucer Set

There are some things in life that you don’t NEED – that are really nice to have. This espresso set is probably one of those. It’s a limited edition item, from the Bianchi Café & Cycles in Milano, Italy. The Bianchi design is applied to porcelain made by the world renowned Villeroy & Boch, Germany. See them here for (we’ll whisper) £40.

We really couldn’t pick a favourite. Cafe Press offer cycling inspired shower curtains, each one professional printed and in a standard size that will fit most rails. There’s a huge selection of designs, currently all priced at £43.50. See them here.

Sleep safely in the knowledge that even your duvet is wearing something cycling specific. This cover set is 100 per cent cotton with a thread count of 180, and it costs £44.95 here. If it’s not for you, but you still want a cycling inspired duvet cover, we’ve got more here.

Recycled Wool Picnic Rug And Leather Straps

Ok, it might not be picnic season – but those sunny days aren’t too far away, and for now you can cuddle up in this vintage inspired wool rug on the sofa after a ride. This beauty has been made using ‘left-over shoddy’ wool fed into the loom so, no two are identical, but you can choose between one with yellow hues and one with red colours. See it here for £59.50.

Cyclehoop Bike Shelf

Store your bike in style with a bike shelf from Cyclehoop. You can hang your bikes up neatly, and store helmets, locks and other essentials on the shelf ledge. Made from a thick steel sheet (with protective rubber to ensure your bike is well looked after) and available in five different colours, prices start at £72.

Hiplok Airlok

The Airlok from Hiplok is the first wall hanging ground anchor (or wall anchor), designed to guard against theft and look stunning in the home. A steel body is attractively covered, and an integrated hardened steel lock secures the bike in position. The Airlok was launched via Kickstarter, and you can order one now to receive it early in 2017. See it here for £129.99.
