TORQ unveil more unique flavours in their 2014 nutrition range

Famed for their unique flavours, sports nutrition company Torq have unveiled even more new tasty options across their range for 2014.

We were lucky to have our taste buds tickled by their new flavours at a Trade Show hosted by the parts and accessories distribution company Zyro, and we were impressed by what we sampled.

Torq Energy Gels

If you enjoyed Torq’s Raspberry Ripple and Rhubarb and Custard energy gels, we’re certain you’re going to love the new Apple Crumble flavour – the biscuity crumble after-taste is sublime.

With so many energy gel taste options, flavour fatigue will be a thing of the past

For those who haven’t tried them – we urge you to – they are a taste sensation, a nice change to the usual citrus flavoured gels on the market.

What’s even better is that they’re ALL natural flavours, with NO artificial sweeteners, are dairy and wheat-free AND suitable for Vegans.

Since launching their energy gels in 2007, they’ve gradually been adding new flavours to the range; other interesting choices include: Forest Fruits, Banoffee, and Strawberry Yoghurt.

The 45g gels start from £1.45 each and boxes of 20 gels are available from the Torq website www.torqfitness.co.uk

Torq Bar

Forget chewy, teeth destroying energy bars, Torq have both taste and texture nailed. Moist, soft, and easy to chew, these bars have a wonderful texture with rice crispy type bits dispersed throughout – tasty!

You won’t lose your teeth eating one of Torq’s bars, they’re soft and super tasty

Not only have they succeeded in making energy bars that you’d happily eat off the bike, all but one of them are Fair Trade. And, although the Mango option isn’t, it is organic!

The 45g bars start from £1.45 each and boxes of 24 bars are available from the Torq website www.torqfitness.co.uk

Torq Energy Drink

We had a chat with the TORQ rep and asked him to explain why we should use Torq energy drinks as opposed to others, he explained that:

“Torq use a combination of two natural carbohydrates; maltodextrin and fructose, while some Aspartame sweetened drinks use only one, typically maltodextrin.

“Research has shown that by taking a mix of the two together, there is a much greater conversion of carbohydrate to energy. In other words you get more bang for your buck!”

Sachets, tubs, bottles, the works – energy drinks covered by Torq!

A new flavour for the energy drink powders in 2014 is Blackcurrant (very tasty again) and other flavours include: natural vanilla pod, orange, lemon, pink grapefruit and lime & lemon.

Torq energy sachets (suitable for a 500ml bottle) start from £1.45 each and 1.5kg tubs are available from the Torq website www.torqfitness.co.uk

Torq Recovery Drinks

Included in their arsenal of nutrition products are recovery drinks. For 2014, they’ve brought out another wonderful flavour – Cookies & Cream.

Torq have gone all Ben & Jerry’s on us with their Cookies & Cream flavour

We all know the importance of eating the right foods post-ride to aid a speedy recovery and Torq have just made that immeasurably more enjoyable.

Torq 500g tubs start from £19.99 each and larger tubs are available from the Torq website www.torqfitness.co.uk
