Britain’s online bike retailer, Wiggle created their own cycling series in 2010. The first ever Super series involved different events, ten sportives and four mountain bike events taking place nationwide throughout the year.
In 2010, Wiggle and UK Cycling events signed a three year deal to work together to ensure that riders came away from each event with utmost satisfaction. Each event follows a clearly marked route, and includes feed stations and support throughout. The 2013 Super series had events from March until December in a range of disciplines. The opening event; Wiggle Southern Rough ride was a mountain bike route with a choice of 16, 25 and 33 miles. Details for each event can be found on UK Cycling events, with entry cost, route profile, distance, maps and location all available prior to the event. Each rider will also receive a goody bag with goodies from the series sponsors.
Many events contain an event centre, timing, free drinks and snacks, mechanical support, bike wash facilities and event photography. Most events offer an under 16 option, as long as they are accompanied by an adult. All events boast great facilities and have parking available for riders. Each route is circular, meaning riders will start and finish in the same place. Entries are confirmed via email, and e-tickets must be printed out and brought to the event. There are benefits for each event, including demos and discounts which can be found out via the event page on UK Cycling events.
