There’s nothing massively groundbreaking about this one – chances are, you’ve probably discovered the warming properties of socks a long time ago.
There are now more and more winter options on the market that provides increased insulation without sacrificing much in the way of fit or breathability. Long socks are a great idea for both road and MTB; teamed with ¾ leggings or bibs, they’ll keep your lower leg toasty and protect the muscles there.
For MTBers, long socks are brilliant at protecting the calf and shin from flying stones and the occasional missed pedal, which can feel particularly painful on cold legs.
We love that there are also some more interesting options out there, like the Tetris-inspired long socks from SockGuy.
