What better way to improve our women’s cycling community, than getting together for a good old fashioned social event.
This year alone we’ve seen many bike shops, cafés and brand names host evening events to promote and develop women’s cycling. These evenings can vary from discussing the media’s vital role in portraying female cyclists, to more hands-on mechanical training and discussions for women.
The next big women’s evening in the calendar is being held at Alf Jones Cycles later this month. Earlier this year, the North Wales bike shop was awarded the Strongher seal of approval for being a female friendly bike shop. Since then, they’ve been working hard to promote women in riding by co-hosting the Ride Out Wales day with Juliana Bicycles, hosting female bike mechanic classes, and hosting events similar to this upcoming women’s extravaganza.
What makes a female friendly bike shop?
There’ll be discussions, Q&A sessions with women in the cycling industry, product demonstrations and plenty of tea, coffee and tasty snacks. With representatives and sponsorship from big female focused brand names such as: Juliana Bicycles – Fi’z:ik – Hope – Liv, it’ll be a great chance to top up that all important Christmas list.
The social event will be for all women who love to ride, and those who may be interested in starting out. It’s for all ages and abilities, and it’ll be a great chance to find some new riding buddies too!
Thursday November 24th at 17:00 – pen it in your diaries. To register your interest and find out more about this event, head over to the Facebook Event page here. We’ll see you there!
